    Progress update :(

I didnt get much work done over the Christmas period and now have a problem with the detente pins being too soft.

These were made specially and I am pretty sure that the makers omitted to do the heat treatment or used the wrong…
  • Using washers instead of relieving the liners does have its drawbacks. For example your blade will need to be thinner than the spring by exactly twice the thickness of the washers or you will get gaps. Difficult without a surface grinder. …

The laser anodising looks interesting, can you get different colours?

Knife design looks fine, just dont expect Titanium to hold an edge.

A stand is easy enough to make up from a piece of board, if it doesnt have the same weight as the WE one then you can always clamp it to your bench/table.

I made up my own inverted T shaped stand and sit on the floor in front of the TV with it held…

I just stumbled across Aaron Goughs video on Blade Forum and remembered this thread.

Anything goes as far as I am concerned as long as the maker is honest about how he/she makes knives. If a buyer is aware of and OK with how the knife is made,…

It wasnt a bad fall - The road looked slippery so I had slowed right down. If I had kept going straight I would have been fine - unfortunately the roundabouts in Milton Keynes are round :-)

All options here and on PMs are noted…

If cabinet bolts are the ones for joining kitchen cabinets then I would agree - yuck

There are a miriad of things you could use and that would probably do, but for a proper job I would advise getting some pivots, made specifically for knife making. …

Has been a bit slow lately, not helped by falling off my bike - again. Sprained wrist, the usual scabby knee and hip. Also a scab under my nose from face planting the tarmac, if this had been a bit to the right it would have made a great…

I watched a U tube tutorial once on Ti anodising.

The guy anodised parts a bike frame by connecting one side of the circuit to the frame and the other to a metal plate onto which was fitted a thin sponge soaked in something - I assume it was borax of…

I have built two drives up using the invertek non IP66 drives inside enclosures.

It takes a couple of hours to build up and works out similar in price to buying the IP 66 unit, maybe a little more, I cant remember exactly.

The advantage I find is that…

Your Mk4 will be a while!

How long do you want the handle and do you have a preference for balance?

Or shall I just do what I think best and pop it in the post?

PM your address and I will sort it out over the weekend.

I had a bit of carbon tube left over from a project, so for a bit of fun and to contribute to Bruces fund I knocked up a DE Razor handle.

This is up for Auction and all (if any) proceeds go to Bruces Fund. auction is for the handle only, it is shown…
