Hello MFC and welcome to the forum. I've seen many examples of your work and both your knives and leatherwork are very accomplished.

With immediate effect, all sales threads must have location of buyer / item.

    Reason :
It's come to our attention recently that our much admired United Kingdom Border Force Detection Unit are now actively intercepting & seizing legal to own & purchase…

I'll be interested to see where this goes. I'm only a shortish drive from the Altberg shop in North Yorkshire and I'm about due some new work boots. My last pair of Bates have done well over the last 3 years but on the lookout again.

I've now got Jimmy's slipjoint and first impressions are very good - if I didn't know the price I would have said thirty quid or so. It's almost twice the weight of a G10 UKPK, so quite a handful too. I've only opened a couple of boxes so far, photos…

I know, it's coming along nicely is that. At least we know there's one fan of the #14s.

I'm very envious of these though

Jimmypie you've not missed anything mate.

Incase I haven't been clear folks. Oakedge Knives is a UK based knife retailer. Brian is the chap behind. Oakedge have their knives made in the UK. By who? Well he won't tell me that much:).

It's a shame you haven't managed to get on with the #14. As much as I love GEC the #14 is not my favourite pattern. I find the #15 much friendlier as it's slightly bigger. If I need/want something on the smaller side I much prefer the #18.

Chui so do I. Not for any personal reasons as Queen have been a bit rubbish for a while now, but as you say it's never good to see the demise of company. Especially when they have been around a long time. Things won't ever take an upward turn for…

So as you may have seen there's a pass around being organised at the moment for one of Oakedge Knives new Bushcraft knives. Well Brian has also kindly agreed to allow us an opportunity to get to grips with one of his slipjoints as well.

Recently I've been speaking to Brian of Oakedge knives. He has kindly agreed to allow me to organise a pass around of one of their new bushcraft knives.

This will be coming towards the back end of January but I'd like to start getting some interest now…

I would think thats probably down to quality more than anything else. Queen have had a reputation for being rather hit and miss when it comes to qc and I suspect this has been reflected in the popularity of the brand vs its main rival/s.

I've never been a fan of Queen Cutlery personally or any of their brands. They've been to hit and miss over the years. But it would be sad to see another company with such history disappear.
