a friend of mine asked me for a "Jäger" model but with a drop point blade.
We decided to make a 9cm blade from 1.2442 tungsten steel, with some rough steel texture left on the blade, brass guard, red spacer and sambar.
The pommel will show a cartridge he collected from his first hunt, several years ago.
Later we decided for a brass pommel with the cartridge.
The drop point blade has, as all my blades, a finger groove on the spine, as I think this is a really comfortable feature when you work with the edge up, short grip.
The blade from 1.2442 has a 61HRC, very fine, long lasting edge, yet easy to resharpen.
Here some pics of the W.I.P.
It all started with a drawing..
Some changes on the pommel..
filing the guard
ready to solder, I wrap the blade in a damp towel to prevent ruining the heat treatment.
soldered, now for some clean up..
everything clued up and finished..
now for the pommel.....
