Hi guys ,the day has finally came today I got my evenheat kiln
Right first let me thank @reeveknives for the info.Next let me say if like me your the kind of guy who buys a £10 item and pays £8 to have it the next day then be prepared for a nightmare
After alot of thought I decided to buy a evenheat,i already have a paragon but ideally two is better for ht and temper cycles.
I did consider making my own but it would of been to much I think and I probably would of electrocuted myself 90% chance
I went with the kf 13.5 model which is good up to a bit over 1200c so fine for nearly all steels.I was going to go bigger but I don't feel heating all that extra room for the one off beast blade is cost effective for me. Plus my workspace is getting a bit tight and I have a big gas forge so I'll just go 01 steel on big builds.
The cost was £1375 and the waiting was a little over 2 months. Prices on these are always on the up so take that into consideration.
I was told get the ramp master so I'll pass that along here.If you get one pay the extra and get the ramp master control.
Ok now for the way I went about ordering, first contact a guy called Ian. He owns a company in Scotland called ceramic choice. 01505336644
Ian is a dealer of evenheat and i think most uk guys go through him. (It's actually cheaper and he deals with the whole thing right to your house) He's a great guy and likes a chat.
I hope this info is useful and a bit more up to date on how to get one of these bad boys
