On Tuesday I had the great fortune to be just outside Birmingham with work.
Knowing that I was only 30 minutes from Lee Bennett's workshop I needed to make a pilgrimage.
Lee kindly showed me round what must be the cleanest and tidiest workshop anywhere on planet earth!
Lee took time to explain to me how he makes his knives, and what the machines are for.
During the visit he explained to me that he makes a folder with no visible screws.
He also took great delight in watching me grin like an idiot as he torched a piece of Timascus, the colour change was amazing.
Lee's work is of a standard that is difficult to imagine, his attention to detail borders on the unhealthy - Sorry buddy!
Not content with making his own pivots he hand laps them to a perfect fit, so time consuming, such attention to detail!
I had a great time, Lee's work is well worth a look.
For the collector, his pieces are always going to be rare and stunning!
Thanks for having me Lee
