I've been offered the chance to take a look at a couple of glass working kilns, one being a pretty large one (at least for hobby use) about 1m x 1m x 0.5m, and the other just described as 'a lot smaller'!
Both have programmers, and both have been used to do glass work (melting sheets of coloured glass together to make bowls and decorative panels).
One just plugs into a standard wall socket, whilst the other is apparently wired into the wall.
So, what should I look out for in these to determine whether they'd be any good for home knife-related things? I've just had a butchers at Paragon kilns to see what to aim for, so temp of ~1300°C, if for stainless...what else?
Any suggestions at all would be much appreciated.
