Workshops / Garages / man-caves / whatever you call them.
i call mine "The Shed", though it is more of a garage. i spend a lot of time in there. usually have a half dozen or so projects on the go. ranging from bicycle restoration, electronic projects, to more general projects etc.
not had much chance to go down the knife making route yet. need to get focused on that, but so many other distractions. nine times out of ten i go out knowing exactly what i want to do and five minutes later i am working on something else altogether. this weekend i had planned on re-handleing a SAK in Denim micatra. actual progressed that quite a bit. made a silly mistake though of not going thick enough with the Micarta (turns out its easier to remove material than to add it! who knew!). so some of the pivots can seen through the micarta. quite like it now though. still some work to do on it. all of which i could easily have completed, but for some reason i decided i need to clean and re handle a few old hammers i had gathered. so turned to that for the rest of my free time..
anyway, the point of this rambling message is workshops. i love seeing them, the way they are organized or not (mine usually looks like a bomb hit it) what tools are used, the interesting tips you can learn. in an ideal work i would love to have a nose about them in real life, but that unlikely so virtually will have to do.
so anyone interested in see others set up?
