    I've learnt a lesson in very basic sanitation that I'm embarrassed to admit. Last week I got 'strep throat.' Sore throat and laid up in bed with a 103 temperature for a day and a couple of grim nights and I can pretty accurately trace it back to a Camelbak bottle and slightly too old tap water...

    It got me thinking about hygiene outdoors and how much of a crap situation this could've been, and if I've had any near misses in the past. So! whats clean mean to you? fire sterilising? if not, how do you clean your plastic canteens in the field, do you drink directly from them? how do you wash up pots?
