    i am trying to reply to your question but the site doesn’t let me to do it.
    however, to answer your question: as i understand with three phase motor you can control the speed of the motor and the revolution direction. You need the convertor to allow you to: one control the speed and two to connect it to normal house hold one phase electric system.
