  • 2 lanny's clips

    Chui - - Shing

    Post

Quote from snedig: “Love the burlap lanny, seems a little stubby in relation to the other one. But maybe it's the angle on which the picture was taken. Anyhow, brilliant work Shing. ” - so have given you one as a pic for avatar - please change or let me know if I can assist

  • Quote from white tiger: “Thank you very much for your comments gents. If you give me a little time I'll try and turn this one into a bit of a WIP. I've taken pic's as I've gone along, I've just got to up load them. I know you've seen the final package, but seeing how it's come together may be of interest. Thanks again. Steve ” - oh yes

  • _ don't know this one, but guess a variation on an existing pattern..........lovely job image-proxy image-proxy

  • - myyyyyyy goodness, how stunning is that Brilliant, Steve...........bloody gorgeous, the whole caboodle

  • Quote from BigAl: “I had no idea this was going to happen but by coincidence pulled the trigger on a £113 PM2. I looked back a few days later and the same knife was on for £170+. Quite some difference and wouldn't have bought at that price at all ” - from what I can gather reading between the lines, EB have not kept an eye on their Spyderco prices for a while now and we've all been party to 'reasonable' prices for them........now they've woken up, it'll all be different If you can grab something…

    - great stuff, you caught the bug early - think you're after traditional patterns, yes..? They vary a great deal, as you're likely aware. Some are buggars to open and close cos the spring is so strong, and some love it that way. @Trap1 may be able to assist you with a very nice Lanny Clip - John won't break your bank balance @Shing may too, but I hear his waiting list is long and/or closed

Hey Pobber - welcome to EM

  • Pocket clip on EDC or not

    Chui - - Knifey Chatter

    Post

    - for me, every day carry is a conveniently positioned knife for easy quick access.........that means a OHO folder tip-up on a pocket clip, as often, I have something in my left hand and need to slice or cut to get the task done. These kinds of edc are most often a Spyderco PITS or UKPK. Then there are other times when I like to carry a handmade/custom folder that is clipless and for that I use a horizontal pouch - but I have to be more tolerant with the task as it means two-handed approach. If …

  • Quote from Essexman: “Quote from fluffy: “the black Taylor's eye witness that you show Chui, was made by Russell when he worked for them. It was not a catalogue piece and the company decide it was not something they could produce at that price point.. Thus it is a decision not to produce such stuff. ” That there ^^^^^ answers the OPs question in one post. ” - indeed, very sad by the looks of it all. • - spoke with someone today on the phone who has been heavily involved in that region and knifemaking.........his thoughts were that Sheffield makers, lone or a company, simply cannot be bothered to try to produce better - there was though, he said, some trying harder with kitchen knives - penknives, forget it

  • Quote from The General: “Brexit and the damage to the Pound (I'm a remain voter for what it is worth) would explain 20%-30% rises. The rest? The 60% or more we have seen? Yeah, Brexit as an excuse is the bogyman now for profiteering somewhere. ” - as we know with decimalisation back in 1971(?) shopkeepers and all sorts usually try on whatever they can to hoodwink the general public and raise prices.........so Brexit presents them with an opportunity to do same, but moreso I would imagine. I know…
